Steelers entertained a strong Ystradgynlais side in the U15s Ospreys cup at Tata. It was a glorious day of sunshine and it was a day of some glorious rugby played by both sides. Unfortunatley Ystrad could only field 14 players due to injury and suspensions but this helped the speedy Ystrad back line during the game with more space available.
Steelers start the stronger, playing all the rugby in the first 10/15 minutes but after some sustained pressure into the opposition 22 from the home side but agaisnt the run of play the Steelers gave a penalty away, which Ystard took quickly and sped along the back line for their winger to race clear of the defence to score under the posts . This try opened the flood gates for a while as Ystrad scored a few more tries in quick succesion to take the game away from Steelers. Towards the end of the 1st half the Steelers fought back to score a fantastic team try with many phases of play which winger Cameron Hanbury scored out wide.
2nd half started badly for the home side as Ystrad scored straight from kick off with a well taken catch and run through a week defence to score under the posts. Again Steeelers fought back couragiously to score the try of the day which begun frpm their own 22 metre line with at least 10 phases of play which ended with the ON FIRE wing Rhys Tutton scoring in the corner, Jo Hughes Converting.
Once again Steelers showing how much their have improved and become a team that is harder to play over the last couple of months. WELL DONE all Players.
